Execute tests with Katalon Studio overview
This section shows you how to execute tests in Katalon Studio.
You can execute a test case, test suite, dynamic test suite, and test suite collection in Katalon Studio. For test suite collections, you can choose to execute associated test suites in sequential mode or in parallel mode.
Test Environments
Browsers:
Chrome
Firefox
Safari
Edge Chromium
IE (for Windows only)
TestCloud: Cloud-based environment in Katalon Platform. This option is available for executing test suite and test suite collection. See Katalon TestCloud overview.
- Headless browsers: Testing the functionality of a Web page without the presence of a GUI:
Chrome (headless)
Firefox (headless)
Remote: Select a remote environment to run tests. Make sure you have set up the default configuration for the remote environment in project settings. Refer to Introduction to Desired Capabilities for more details.
Mobile Devices: Select either Android or iOS to launch the connected devices. Then select a device among those listed ones. Before executing your mobile test, check if you have set up the environment for mobile testing for Windows or for macOS.
If there is no device listed, make sure the Developer Mode on the phone is turned on, try to unplug, and reconnect several times until you are prompted to accept/ trust this device.
Windows: Select this option if you are executing tests on a desktop application.
Custom: Make sure you have set up the default configuration for the remote environment in project settings. Refer to Custom Execution for more details. When you have set up your custom environment, select it from the drop-down list.
